The highest ranked hand wins the “pot” which is all of the chips that have been bet during that hand. A key skill in poker is understanding ranges, which are the odds of your opponents having certain hands. Newer players often try to put their opponents on a specific hand, but more experienced players will work out the range of possible hands that an opponent could have and then calculate how likely it is they will have a better hand than yours.<\/p>\n
A good poker player has to be able to read their opponents, which can include body language, facial expressions and gestures. All poker players have tells, which are unconscious habits that reveal information about their hand.
